Jade across the Rockies: Tracing relationships in Western Canada through archaeology - Todd Kristensen

Jade was used for over 3000 years in British Columbia to make woodworking tools. Some of

these artifacts were traded east across mountains and Indigenous language boundaries to

Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. The distribution of artifacts is unusual: this talk explores

who was transporting jade and why.
